Region: Yarra Valley.
Villages: Tarrawarra, Dixons Creek.
Appearance: Vibrant red, bright, touch of purple.
Bouquet: Youthful but gently aromatic Pinot Noir, strawberry, plums, spice, smoky oak.
Palate: Medium weight, textural, red fruits, wood spice, fine tannin, silky finish.
Suggested Cuisine: Gnocchi with duck ragu.
General Characteristics: Dry / Medium Bodied
Vintage Conditions: The 2015 season was dry and mild producing aromatic and plump Pinot Noir. Good fruit maturity and natural acidity, abundant flavour and generally a very good harvest.
Vineyard Selection: Estate vineyards at Dixons Creek, The Abbey, Emu and Ponderosa. Older plantings MV6 clone, younger plantings of 777.
Winemaking: Fruit was hand harvested. A combination of whole berry with 15-25% whole bunch is tipped into both open top and small static fermenters. 12-18 days of maceration and fermentation. Pressed, settled overnight and then filled to French casks by gravity.
Wine Analysis: Alc/Vol: 13.0%, pH: 3.54, TA: 5.9 g/L
Cellaring: Will continue to develop complexity and interest for 3-5 years in a good cellar.
