Vintage Conditions
Moderate rainfall in spring and early summer followed by mild summer temperatures with cooler than usual temperatures during harvest resulted in good natural acidity and some of the best flavour seen for many years in the Riverina. Yields were also slightly down which saw great varietal intensity. ‘A one in twenty year vintage’ according to Managing Director, Darren De Bortoli.

Winemaking
71% of fruit is from four select old vineyards in the Riverina which each year consistently produce aromatic and flavoursome Savvy. 29% of the fruit is from De Bortoli cool climate vineyard in the King Valley to help add depth of fruit and fresh acidity.
