APPEARANCE: Bright vermilion cherry red.
BOUQUET: Shows an aromatic array of blackcurrant and blackberry.
PALATE: Syrah intensifies colour and marries well with flavours of the Dolcetto to create layers of a soft sweet wine full of lush dark fruits and juicy berry flavours. Fine grained tannins provide a texture that integrates with abundant fruit and finishes with a light spritz.
VINTAGE CONDITIONS: Fresh early January rains prepared vines for what was to be a mild & then dry Riverina vintage. The milder temperatures allowed for wonderful expression of fruit aromas and flavours and allowed the retention of natural acid in most varieties.
WINEMAKING: The Shiraz fruit was selected to enhance the soft tannin and spice component of this wine and the Dolcetto “the little sweet one” supplements with an abundance of fruit flavours. The Shiraz and Dolcetto are co-fermented to ensure the flavours are in synergy . When the desired sugar level is reached fermentation is arrested to retain natural sweetness and primary fruit flavours.
WINE ANALYSIS: Alc/Vol: 9.0 % pH: 3.35 TA: 6.56 g/L
CELLARING: Best enjoyed chilled whilst young and exhibiting the fresh summer berry fruits.
