Appearance: Bright rich magenta in colour.
Bouquet: Fresh cherry and rich fruits of the forest with a hint of spice.
Palate: Lashings of ripe summer berries with natural grape sweetness balanced by soft tannins to finish.
Suggested Cuisine: Thai red beef curry, antipasto plate or Italian favourites such as pizza and pasta. Served slightly chilled.
General Characteristics: Medium Sweet / Light Bodied
Vintage Conditions: 2013 saw low rainfall in Spring with January being quite dry and warm. The dry weather allowed fruit to reach optimum ripeness providing a good balance of acidity and flavour. Some light showers in late February to help freshen the fruit with vintage starting later than usual but finishing quickly by the end of March.
Winemaking: The Shiraz fruit was selected to enhance the soft tannin and spice component of this wine and the Dolcetto “the little sweet one” supplements with an abundance of fruit flavours.
Wine Analysis: Alc/Vol: 8.5 % pH: 3.3 TA: 6.33 g/L
Cellaring: Best enjoyed chilled whilst young and exhibiting the fresh summer berry fruits.
