Riverina

The Riverina

The Riverina enjoys a warm Mediterranean climate with winter dominant rainfall. The sandy loam soils vary in colour from red sandy earths to brown clay roams. The De Bortoli Bilbul winery in the Riverina is the birthplace of icon dessert wine Noble One developed by winemaker Darren De Bortoli in the 1980s which, since its release has been awarded more than 100 Trophies and 345 Gold Medals.

Bilbul also produces world class fortified wines and premium varietal wines. Great strides have been made with varietal wines in recent years and they deliver outstanding quality and value. Fruit is sourced from our own 300 hectares of vineyards and those of selected growers.

The De Bortoli Wines Bilbul Cellar Door has been recognised by the Inland NSW Inland Tourism Awards over the past four years; awarded Best Cellar Door in 2006, a Special Distinction in 2007 and a Finalist in 2008 & 2009. Open seven days it is well worth the visit if you are in the Riverina.

'We are improving wine quality through our vineyard management, by the varieties we plant and the crop levels we expect from them.'
