VINEYARD: CLONE MV6 - PLANTED 1985 - VINE DENSITY 3500 per ha - Vines are cane pruned to 25 buds and shoot thinned in the early growth stages to 18 bunches per vine.

BOUQUET: Highly perfumed, alluring red fruits, charcuterie and spice.

PALATE: Elegant, plump, minerally, fine tannin, soft acidity.

PHILOSOPHY: The Lusatia Park B Block Pinot Noir is regarded as one of the best single vineyard sites in the upper Yarra Valley. The philosophy is to produce Pinot Noir that speaks of the place.

VINTAGE CONDITIONS: 2013 was a highly perfumed vintage with good plumpness and structure. Mild autumn weather, slow ripening and beautiful ageing wines.

WINEMAKING: Fruit is hand picked and destemmed to open fermenters. 15% whole bunches are included. Natural fermentation occurs and the cap receives the occasional plunge toward the end of fermentation. After 20 days on skins the wines are pressed, settled overnight and gravity filled to French casks (30% new) for 10 months. The wine is then racked by gravity and bottled in early March of the following year.
