The Vineyard: Gentle north-east facing slope, cooler than expected, early ripening, very aromatic site. Highly mineral Humevale siltstone which give us some of our finest wine styles. Savage fruit thinning in the vineyard and bunch sorting in the winery ensured perfect fruit reached the fermenter. A classic cool season where the best wines are quite fi ne and beautifully aromatic.

The Wine: We include a small percentage of whole bunches in this wine as it suits the site. Nuance of stems and red fruits with hints of clove and spice. The palate is quite fine with plumpness, length and power.

Cellaring: Store in a cool cellar and this wine will be a treat in five years.
