Region: 64% Riverina, 34% King Valley.
Appearance: Pale straw in colour.
Bouquet: Lifted nose of white peach, with cashew and subtle vanilla oak characters adding complexity.
Palate: A medium bodied richly textured Chardonnay, with tight acidity holding it all together for a long finish.
Suggested Cuisine: A great match to chicken, seafood and light pasta dishes.
General Characteristics: Dry / Medium Bodied
Vintage Conditions: Fresh early January rains prepared vines for what was to be a mild & then dry Riverina vintage. The cooler temps allowed for great depth in pungent fruit aromas and allowed the retention of natural acid in most varieties. Quality is well above average.
Winemaking: 70% of fruit grown by De Bortoli in Riverina from the Nericon Vineyard planted to Chardonnay back in 1993. Blended with one other local Riverina grower whose vines were planted back in '78. Then topped with of cool climate fruit from the Yarra Valley. A splash of Pinot Noir is also added for interest.
Wine Analysis: Alc/Vol: 12.40% pH: 3.30 TA: 6.45g/L
Cellaring: This wine will develop in the bottle over the next three to five years.
